Introduction
             Estimated time:
             2 Hour
We will use a Geographic Information System (GIS) software program: ArcGIS (ArcView) by ESRI for this learning unit in water resources engineering. You will use the GIS while you learn the water resources concepts related to watersheds, land use, soil types, curve numbers, and runoff. The ultimate objective for this lesson is to learn a sophisticated way to determine the weighted curve number to compute the runoff around a point of analysis at a site. With the runoff you can design hydraulic structures and water control devices. Go ahead and start the steps on the left column and along the way you will learn how to work with GIS data.
