Use the “Definition Query” tool to select all areas that have a curve number of 84

  • Create layer files

    1. Right click “Soil_Clip_Union” layer → Properties

    2. Left click “Definiton Query” tab

    3. Type the following expression into the window to select the areas of the watershed that have a Curve Number of 84

      4. “GRIDCODE” = 2 AND “HydGroup” = ‘D’
    4. Click Apply → OK

    5. The “Query Builder” can also be used and the steps for using it are as follows:
      Double click “GRIDCODE” → left click “=”→ left click “Unique Values” → double click “2” → left click “AND” → double click “HydGroup” → left click “=”→ left click “Unique Values” → double click “D”
    6. Click Apply → OK

    7. Open “Soils_ Clip_Union” Attribute Table to check selected layers and verify that all “GRIDCODE” and “HydGroup” selections match the desired criteria entered in the previous step

    8. Repeat step V.b.i.2 and name output file CN_84
