IV. Overlay Soil and Land use data
Here you will add information about soil types and land use to the map. Both soil type and land use can vary within the watershed and make a large difference in the amount of runoff produced. Obviously, there will be many different soil types and land uses within a large watershed. This can make it very difficult to calculate runoff. However, we can use GIS to make this task easier. In this step you will add the data to tables behind the map, and in the following sections you will use ArcGIS to integrate soil type and land use into one parameter.
