If you want to convey the scale in a 1" = X.XXX format, place the scale text on the layout
This exercise will help you:
  • Insert the scale text on the layout

  • Go to "Insert"

  • Select “Scale Text”

  • From the “Text Scale Selector” box, select the correct scale for the map (ex. 1 inch = 15.78 miles)

  • Press “OK”
