Now that we have a text file, we can import that into Excel. Here we have to select what is called, “comma delimited” import

In this exercise, you will:
  • Utilize Excel in conjunction with ArcGIS
  • Introduce delimited text file importing

    1. Open Excel program: Start ->Microsoft Office ->Excel

    2. Open your text file: File ->Open ->find the text file
      3. (Note: you must make text files visible to Excel in the “files of type” box)
    3. In the window that pops up, ensure that “delimited” is selected and select next

    4. Check the box that says “comma” and select next

    5. Click Finish
