III. a. ii. Import table into map view

Now that our table is in ArcMap, we need to display it on the map view

In this exercise, you will:
  • Explore data display options
  • Display X-Y Data on the map

Text Version:
    1. Right click on the route name

    2. Left click “Display X-Y Data"

    3. Select a coordinate system
      1. Select Edit -> Select
      2. Navigate to Geographical Coordinate System -> North America -> NAD 1927 (CGQ77).prj
      3. Select Add

    4. Press “OK”

    5. An alert window pops-up: Select OK

      6. (Note 1: the default X-Y Data is Longitude and Latitude, so nothing has to be changed. Note 2: You may want to switch the display view for the layer menu.)
