II. b. Organizing data layers
Estimated time:
1 minutes
A layer is like a “sheet” of spatial information, and the map is like a stack of these sheets. Because of this organization method, the order that the layers are stacked controls the visual output. The top name in the layers menu is the top layer on the map. We need to organize the layers so that we can see all of them. In general, point data should be on top followed by lines and then polygons
In this exercise, you will:
- Navigate the layers menu
- Organize the data layers
Text Version:
- Left Click and hold the layer name in the left hand “Layers” box
- Drag it to an appropriate location in the list
