I. c. i. Add a single layer

This program allows us to choose the layers we want to add to our map. Here we will take a look at the targets for our easement route

In this exercise, you will:
  • Use the standard toolbar
  • Navigate a file system
  • Add an external data layer

    1. Left Click the “Add Data” button in the “Standard” toolbar

    2. Navigate to the downloaded “GIS_Layers” folder

    3. Select the layer named “Targets” by left clicking it

    4. Press the “Add” button
      5. (Note: The layer is now added to the ArcGIS view and is shown in the box entitled “Layers” with a checkmark in the box to the left of the layer name, signifying that the layer is shown in the map view)
