VI. e. Determining cost of the project
A few calculations are now needed to compute the cost of delivery and the cost of the material for the project.
In this exercise, you will:
  • Calculate the number of loads of material needed at the construction site.
  • Determine the total cost for delivery of the material.
  • Compute the total cost for the project.

Text Version:

    1. Determine the number of trips needed for the project.

(Needed volume) * (Estimated tons/Unit volume) =Tons of material needed

(Needed tons) / (Weight of material able to be hauled per load) = Number of trips

    2. Determine the cost needed for delivery of the material.

(Number of Loads) * (Delivery Cost per load) = Total cost for delivery

    3. Determine the total cost for material and delivery combined.

    4. (Total cost for material) + (Total cost for delivery) = Total cost
