Counties are shown in maps as closed polygons defining an area, so they have a border line and can be filled with different colors. You can change the borderline color and weight and the color of the fill. Say, if you are in Green County, might as well color it green with black borderline... :)
In this exercise, you will:
  • Change a polygon layer into a county layer.
  • Adjust the boundary line thickness.

Make the “Counties” polygon layer into county boundaries:

    1. Double Click the shaded rectangle beneath the layer name to open up the “Symbol Selector” box

    2. Select “Hollow” from the choices to the left

    3. Adjust the “Outline Width” to “1”

    4. Press “Apply to Preview” -> OK
