    Make the “Soils” polygon layer a multi-colored layer based on the UCS soil designation. Right Click the layer name >> Properties >> Symbology tab >> Left Click the “Categories” name in the “Show:” box to the left >> Left Click “Unique Values” >> In the “Value Field” drop down menu, select “UCS_Soil” >> Left Click “Add All Values” >> Apply to Preview >> OK
