V. b. Noting which Census Tracts are out of Compliance

The layer should now be colored so that all census tracts that are in compliance with the ambient ozone level are one color while those that are not are in a separate color
In this exercise, you will:
  • Zoom in on the out of compliance Census Tracts
  • Use the Select Features tool to select the Census Tracts and identify their FID

    1. Zoom in on an area with census tracts that are out of compliance (you may not have any, if so skip this step)

    2. Click on the Select Features tool from the top of the window

    3. Click on the area of the map (Census Tract) that appears to be out of compliance

    4. Right Click on Census_Clip_SpatialJoin -> Open Attribute Table

    5. At the bottom click Selected next to Show

    6. Record the FID, on your lab handout

    7. Repeat for any other Census Tracts that are out of compliance

    8. Right Click on the Map -> Clear Selected Features

    9. Repeat V.a and V.b but for your hour, and set the Break Value to 120 PPB, again note which census tracts are out of compliance, are any? (If there is a lot, estimate how many you believe are out of compliance, and not which parts of the census tract seems to have the most out of compliance (dense urban/rural areas/other)

      A wise individual would probably save frequently, just saying.
