II. a. Clipping the rest of Texas outside the Ozone data area

You shall now remove the area of Texas outside of the Ozone layer to make data sets more manageable. The clipping function allows you to remove extraneous data, allowing ArcGIS to run faster, and reducing what must be examined on the computer screen.
In this exercise, you will:

    1. Open Attribute Table for the Ozone layer by right clicking the layer name -> Attributes Table -> Options -> Select All -> Close(X)

    2. Click Extract from the tool box within the Analysis Tools

    3. Double Click Clip

    4. Input Features -> Census

    5. Clip Features -> Ozone -> OK -> Close

    6. Open Attribute Table, of census clip

    7. Options -> Select All -> Clear Selection -> Close

    8. Modify Quantity attributes for the new clipped Census

    9. Turn off the old Census by clicking the box that has been checked to the left of the layer name in the layer table, and drag the ozone layer to the top of the layer table
