IV. c. Add a new field to the new intersected polygons in the new Intersect Layer

Here you will create a new field in the new Intersect Layer, exactly as you did in part III.a. These new fields will be used in the calculation of the ozone contribution of the census tracts.
In this exercise, you will:
  • Use the Add Field command

    1. Right Click on the Census_Clip_Intersect layer

    2. Click on Open Attribute Table

    3. Click Options -> Add Field

    4. Name the new Field IArea

    5. Choose Double as the type

    6. Have the Precision be 18 and the scale be 3

    7. Click Ok

    8. Repeat a second and third time, naming the second new field OzContr and the third new field 8HrOzCont, make both with Double type, precisions of 18 and scales of 3

    9. Note: The new Field will be on the far right of the attribute table
