So What is This About?
This learning system introduces GIS to undergraduate students enrolled in a typical civil engineering program. It contains five modules with specialties in environmental, geotechnical, surveying, transportation, and water resources (see links on left). The modules are self-contained and require minimal instruction. They can be adminstered as laboratory session or homework assignment. The project was funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in an effort to introduce GIS in the civil engineering curriculum, see below for abstract:
